Connecting Claude to ActivityInfo

Claude reaches ActivityInfo through a custom connector, which is a remote MCP server that you add by its URL. Once it is added and you have signed in, you can ask Claude about the data in your ActivityInfo databases.

Before you begin

• The MCP server has to be enabled for each database you want to work with. See Enabling the MCP server for a database.
• Read Using AI assistants with sensitive data before you connect a database that holds personal data, and use an account on a plan your organisation has bought rather than a personal one.
• On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector once for the whole organisation, and each member then connects their own ActivityInfo account to it. On an individual plan you do both steps yourself.

The server URL is:

https://www.activityinfo.org/mcp

Add the connector on an individual plan

1. In Claude, open “Settings”.
2. Go to “Customize”, then “Connectors”.
3. Click “+”, then “Add custom connector”.
4. Enter a name, such as ActivityInfo, and paste https://www.activityinfo.org/mcp as the remote MCP server URL.
5. Click “Add”.

Leave the OAuth client ID and client secret in “Advanced settings” empty. ActivityInfo registers Claude automatically and issues no client secret.

Add the connector on a Team or Enterprise plan

An Owner or Primary Owner does this once for the organisation:

1. Open “Organization settings”, then “Connectors”.
2. Click “Add”, hover over “Custom”, then choose “Web”.
3. Enter a name and paste https://www.activityinfo.org/mcp as the server URL.
4. Save the connector.

Each member then opens “Settings”, goes to “Customize”, then “Connectors”, finds ActivityInfo in the list, and connects their own account as described in the next section.

Sign in to ActivityInfo

1. Click “Connect” on the ActivityInfo connector. A browser window opens on ActivityInfo.
2. Sign in to ActivityInfo if you are not already signed in.
3. The “Authorize application” screen appears. It leads with the destination that receives the authorization code, and shows the name of the application below it.
4. Decide whether to allow changes. Clear the checkbox for making changes to grant read access only. Grant read access only unless you intend to have Claude create forms or enter records.
5. Click to authorize.

The connector shows as connected. The authorisation now appears on the “Authorized Applications” page of your ActivityInfo account settings.

Confirm the connection

Start a new chat. Use the “+” button at the lower left, choose “Connectors”, and check that ActivityInfo is switched on for the conversation. Then ask:

List my ActivityInfo databases.

Claude answers with the databases you can reach. Each one shows whether the MCP server is enabled for it. Ask a follow-up question to check that reading works:

List the forms in the <name> database, and show me the fields of the main form.
