Changing your password

When you a sign up for a free trial, purchase a subscription, or are invited to an ActivityInfo database, you may either be asked to choose a password, or directed to sign in via your organization's directory.

Single Sign On (SSO)

Wherever possible, we try to work with organizations to set up Single Sign On (SSO) through their Microsoft Active Directory or Google Workspace instance.

If your email matches a registered organization, like @unicef.org or @drc.ngo, then ActivityInfo will redirect you to your organization's sign in page to authenticate.

In this case, you will not need to choose a seperate ActivityInfo password.

Password-based Authentication

If your organization is not set up for SSO, you must choose a password for ActivityInfo.

Passwords must meet the criteria set out in NIST Special Publication 800-63B. Passwords must be:

  • At least 8 characters
  • No more than 64 characters

We recommend linking your account to your organization's authentication system rather than choosing an ActivityInfo specific password. You can attempt to connect from your Profile menu.

Note that some organizations require IT department approval before applications like ActivityInfo are allowed to authenticate their users. If connecting your account fails, contact your IT department for approval.
