Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR)

The Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is an independent, non-profit organization established in 1991. It operates in more than 20 countries worldwide, partnering with local media and civil society groups to support constructive change in areas affected by conflict, crisis, and political transition.

IWPR Mission is Giving Voice, Driving Change. IWPR helps local voices to be heard, particularly in challenging environments where media freedom is restricted, hate speech and disinformation are widespread, and journalists and civic actors face threats. By promoting accurate information and inclusive public dialogue, IWPR contributes to more informed communities and stronger democratic processes.

To improve how it manages project data and reporting, IWPR has adopted ActivityInfo, a platform for grants management and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL). This system supports:

  • Secure and consistent collection of sensitive data
  • Better aggregation and comparison of data across different projects
  • Streamlined processes for reporting and analysis
  • Improved data standards and coordination across teams and countries

By strengthening its data systems, IWPR aims to increase the impact and accountability of its programs in complex operating environments.
