Who we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience using ActivityInfo in the field, and who loves to teach and empower others to make the most from technology. We expect you to be self-organized and focused on producing value for our customers -- our expectation is that you’re actively seeking out new topics for tutorials and documentation and pushing out updates to our website at a high tempo. In the words of Lin-Manuel Miranda, you’re someone who is “writing like you’re running out of time.”

What you will work on:

  • Write documentation for new features, in close collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Write tutorials and how-tos that help users solve specific problems with ActivityInfo
  • Review and improve API documentation
  • Set up template databases that demonstrate how ActivityInfo can address specific sectors or use-cases such as health, WASH, case management, livelihoods, etc.
  • Record short videos to help illustrate concepts or guide users.
  • Periodically take on customer professional service engagements to stay connected with our user base

What qualifications you must have:

  • Practical experience building information systems with ActivityInfo in the humanitarian or international development sector
  • Experience developing documentation targeted to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Keen eye for detail and an excellent ability to organize information into a structured format
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly
  • Ability to manage your own time and priorities

What qualifications are nice-to-have:

  • Background in or experience with relational database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL etc)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs (using Postman or a scripting language, for example)
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish would be an advantage
  • Proximity to the Central European timezone.

What we offer:

  • €3000 - €4000 per month as an independent contractor for remote workers based on a 40-hour work week and 25 vacation days, and 10 public holidays per year.
  • Opportunity to work with an international team, and customers in more than 100+ countries

Please apply before 9:00 AM CEST, June 30th.
